• In Zimbabwe, mental health is not about yoga or therapy apps. It is about learning to cope. Mental health in this context is about having safe spaces to talk and be heard. It is about creating community based support that offer culturally appropriate tools and guidance.

  • YES! You can. Unfortunately, the platform we are currently using makes it difficult for us to format the website in Shona and Ndebele as well as English. However, messages can be sent in either language.

  • Our goal is to advocate for ALL people in the Global South to have access to additional support in the long run. However, as my experience is in Zimbabwe and I am doing much of this on my own, I have to start small!

  • ALL stories will be seen by myself at The Things We Carry Zimbabwe. If you choose to remain anonymous then I cannot see any of your information besides the story you share. Once The Things We Carry Zimbabwe has collected enough testimonies, I will be sharing these stories with aid bodies in the future - unless you tick the “No, please do not share my story” box.

Make a donation.

Carryzim.org runs on stories, not funding. However, keeping the site open incurs small costs, such as owning the domain and using editing software. If you WANT to chip in, it helps keep the platform going! Though the best donation you can give is your voice and your story.

Disclaimer: Any donation made will be used to support the running of the site, and any additional funds will be allocated to supporting mental health charities based in Southern Africa.
